The corridor between two structures is a classic trap. Roof water, fence-line grade, and no daylight add up to a permanent mud strip.
Side yards fail because they are narrow, shaded, and often the only route water has. We measure both structures, keep collection off the foundation, and use solid pipe to carry volume through the corridor instead of soaking the soil you walk on.
